Parliament de Catalunya. Located in the Ciutadella Park. Unravel an often turbulent history dating back to the 18th centaury. Port Olympic. Opened in 1991 to host sailing events for the 1992 Summer Olympics. Presently a fun relaxing Marina vital to Barcelona. Its seafood restaurants and bars make it one of the city's most popular leisure areas. Sites of Interest: Peix (Fish) Frank Gehry (sculpture). Twin-tower blocks (Hotel Arts and the Torre Mapfre). Vila Olímpica. Mediterranean coastline. Location: Sant Martí.
Port Vell. Known in Barcelona as the old harbour. Once a major power of the seas. Containing a deep rooted history. Presently it is being transformed to attract the world of super yachts in aim of becoming a leading nautical leisure and business destination. Location: Ciutat Vella. Sites of Interest: Maremagnum (shopping). Barcelona L'Aquàrium. IMAX Port Vell. Museu d'Història de Catalunya.
The Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar. Or the Cathedral of La Ribera. The only surviving church containing architecture created in the pure Catalan Gothic style. Construction: (1329-1384). Location: Ciutat Vella. Architect: Berenguer de Montagut.
